TAIPAN MK4 RESTORATION
Our good Aussie mate Callum Henderson has sent in another mission to accomplish in the full restoration of this rather rare Taipan mk4 diesel.
Here's how he arrived in our E.D.

Very grubby but complete at least. Let's get him dismantled and into the bath.
O.K. Having dismantled the engine and given him a good scrub up in the bath we went ahead and refinished the crankcase, repairing a lot of the aesthetic faults and scapes.
Here's the case all finished and ready for the other parts to join him soon.

Now we'll clean the crankshaft and front end components and while we're at it we'll also replace the crankshaft main bearing as this felt a bit rough.
Here's the front housing also cleaned up and reassembled with the crankshaft etc.

And test fitted back into the main case.....

Next up is the cylinder head and cylinder liner assembly.
