SILVER SWALLOW REBUILD
Here's the engine as we recieved it, needing reanodizing as some silly billy tried to paint it, BAH HUMBUG. Oh well never mind we can easily fix that and as it turns out it's also decidedly low on compression.
First step, dismantle and clean the engine and remove all the silly paint.
Painted parts all nicely cleaned and ready for anodizing to properly colour them.
And viola..........
Here's the engine all cleaned and ready to start reassembling and adding the compression back into it.
Bottom end all sorted and the venturri O ring replaced. We also took the liberty of adding a bush between the prop driver and case to eliminate the exessive end float which is never a good thing to have as it creates ongoing proplems on the inside.
Now it's onto the piston liner assembly...........
Here's the relapped liner with the piston and contra piston blanks ready for machining to size and fitting to the cylinder liner.
New piston and contra finished and fitted up.
New con rod made and fitted.
And all assembled.
Now it's off to the test stand to run it up.
And the hot restart.
