FROG 50 RESTORATION.

Here's the engine as received by us from our good friend Derek Butler of Australia.

Nice looking little engine but sadly he has zero compression. let's get him all dismantled and see what can be done to breath some more life back into him.

Not too bad, needs a bit of TLC but mostly he's O.K.

Lets start with a jolly good bath and wash away the grime of time and use.

Well after a jolly good scrubbing and the application of some nice clean oil, here's how he's looking so far.

 

Here's the cylinder head all cleaned and refinished along with the original compression screw.

Now we'll make a start on the cylinder assembly.

Nicely relapped cylinder liner that is now round and true with the correct cylinder geometry applied, and the new piston and contra piston blanks made and ready for final machining to size and fitting to the restored cylinder liner.

Here we have the backplate all fitted up complete with a new gasket and also the piston/liner assembly all completed and ready to run.
