TAIPAN SERIES 67 DIESEL REBUILD

Another taipan mission "restore to as close to new looking as possible. As this is a very unique engine this should be a very interesting project.

We have got this engine stripped down and ready to clean and refinish the crankcase. New bearings are also on the way.

Here's the cleaned up crankcase and it's not looking too bad actually.

Next it's onto the backplate..........

Now its onto cleaning up the cylinder head and liner.

And a quick assembly to see what it looks like.

Very nice we think. These are all the original parts that have been cleaned up to reuse. Now the real work begins.

Onto the crankshaft..........

First stage.

Next it's machine the big end journal, counter balance and ports.

And fitted to the rest of the engine........

Now it's onto the front end.

Next is the venturi and needle valve assembly.

Next up is the con-rod.

Now its onto the piston, gudgeon pin and contra piston.

Now that the entire cylinder liner assembly is finished lets start the assembly process........

Con-rod assembly all fits together nicely.

Now we just need to add some fuel...............

After a bit of running here's the test run.....
