TAIPAN MK2 1.5cc DIESEL RESTORATION

Here is the engine as received from Callum.

First step, dismantle and assess the damage, tool up to manufacture whatever parts are required to return this classic Ozzy iron back to his former glory, plus a bit hopefully.

So we have a little bit of work to do on this one, rebore, rod, N.V.A. prop washer and nut and a strip and re-anodize job on the cylinder head.

We'll start with cleaning up the crankcase and crankshaft, then finish the front end.

Here's the crankcase all cleaned and ready to receive the rest of the parts.

O.k. now that the case is sorted we'll move onto the rest of the engine parts.

Here's the progress so far, Case cleaned and original crankshaft also cleaned up and refitted with a newly made prop driver, prop washer and prop nut.

So this con-rod doesn't quite look right.........

I think we'll be needing to make another one of these.....

So here's the new rod, nice and clean and straight.

Now it's time to sort the cylinder liner with a new piston and contra.
