MY FIRST ENGINE
This is the very first engine that I built and completed to running. I made use of a pair of MK12 B russian webra Mach1 copy cylinder liners and made a cylinder lap to relap them back into serviceable condition. I made a pair of pistons from cast iron and taught myself to lap fit pistons into the liner, eventually achieving the required quality of fit needed to run the engine.
All though the crankcase was milled to get the mounting lugs etc, the cylinder stubs were machined in the lathe and then the case was hand finished with a file and emery tape, with the final finish being done with wet n dry and a touch of CRC for lube.
SPECIFICATIONS
BORE = 15.5mm
STROKE = 13mm
TOTAL DISPLACEMENT = 5cc
CONFIGURATION = ALTERNATE FIRING GLOW ENGINE WITH A CENTER ROTARY VALVE INDUCTION
Once I had finished building the anodizing plant I decided there was no reason to add some colour to all my engines. Photos below show the finished engine with some nice blue anodizing.
