TAIPAN 1cc DIESEL
Here's the engine as we received it from our client in Australia.

OK, so no compression and andozing's a bit shabby but so far it doesn't look too bad.....
Let's dismantle and clean it up and see what needs to be done.

O.K. first step is to clean up the crankcase and crankshaft and start the reassembly process.
Here we have the cleaned crankcase with the original crankshaft and prop driver all cleaned up and refitted along with the original needle valve assembly and the new replacement spring clicker.

Next up is a new spinner nut and a cleaned up backplate.

Now lets have a look at the piston liner assembly.......
Here's the new piston and contra blanks all ready for machining up and fitting to the cylinder liner............ there's something odd looking about that conrod tho, doesn't quite look right??

Well that's not going to work, the rod has a serious twist in it.
One new con rod coming right up.
Here we have the new con rod made and ready to fit to the rest of the piston assembly, the up side being that now both rod ends point in the same direction, lol.

Piston assembly all done and ready to go back and play nicely with the rest of the engine.

And back together again, yay.

Now we need to strip and re anodize the cylinder head.
Before.........

And here he is all finished and waiting for the fuel.......

Off to the test stand we go.
And the restart testing.
Now he's all ready to go home.
